Acquainted with Adversity
Honoring and soothing our pain through music and the written word

Details
What does adversity look like for you? A toxic relationship? A chronic illness? Debt? Depression? Loss? Perhaps you've lived with your pain so long you feel that no one wants to hear about it anymore. Maybe your pain is so fresh and raw that you have yet to put it into words. Whatever your acquaintance with adversity, this series will help you express your feelings in new ways, be truly heard and understood, and rediscover a sense of hope. Using proven strategies from the fields of music therapy, bibliotherapy, and creative expression, celebrated composer and pianist Heather Niemi Savage and process facilitator K Castrataro will lead you through a multi-faceted exploration of adversity designed to support your sense of personhood and agency amid life's challenges. Each session will feature a live performance of one of Heather's original, hymn-inspired piano meditations and written reflections and discussion facilitated by K. Sign up for a single session, or join us for all six. (You will need to select each session you plan to attend at booking.) Your brighter tomorrow can start today.
